Arrival in Sicily: Welcome to Castellammare del Golfo

Arrive at Palermo Airport and begin your Sicilian journey with a shared transfer to the charming seaside town of Castellammare del Golfo. Settle into your hotel in the heart of the village, overlooking one of Sicily’s most beautiful bays, and take your first moments to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this coastal gem. In the evening, we gather for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, tasting the flavours of Sicily while getting your first glimpse of the island’s warm hospitality.

Palermo & Monreale

We explore the vibrant heart of Palermo, strolling through its historic centre, elegant squares and lively local markets, where centuries of culture and tradition come together. We enjoy the city’s authentic atmosphere and discover the flavours that make Sicilian cuisine so distinctive.

In the afternoon, we continue to Monreale to visit its magnificent Cathedral, a masterpiece of Norman architecture renowned for its extraordinary golden mosaics.

Erice, Marsala & the Salt Pans of Trapani

We discover the medieval village of Erice, with its charming cobbled streets and breathtaking views over the surrounding landscape. We then continue to Marsala, a town whose name is forever linked to its renowned fortified wine. We visit a local winery to learn about the unique production process and taste this iconic Sicilian wine. On the way back, we stop at the salt pans of Trapani to admire a unique coastal landscape shaped by centuries of tradition.

Sicilian Village Experience

We discover the authentic village of Caltabellotta, walking through its narrow streets and hidden corners while learning about its history and traditions. We visit the Mother Church and the evocative Pirtuso (subject to opening times), before meeting a local shepherd and tasting traditional cheeses. The experience continues with a tasting of Biancolilla olive oil and a seasonal homemade lunch, sharing the flavours and stories of rural Sicily.

In the afternoon, we continue to Sciacca, a charming seaside town known for its thermal heritage, fishing traditions and beautiful views over the Mediterranean. Check-in at your hotel, with sea-view rooms, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this coastal town.

Ancient Sicily: The Valley of the Temples & Villa Romana del Casale

We leave Sciacca and travel through the landscapes of western Sicily to discover two extraordinary treasures of the island’s ancient past. We visit the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, a breathtaking archaeological site where impressive Greek temples stand surrounded by the beauty of the countryside. We then continue to Piazza Armerina to explore the Villa Romana del Casale, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its exceptionally preserved Roman mosaics. In the evening, we arrive in Modica, our next Sicilian base.

Noto’s Wonders and Coastal Retreat

We explore the elegant Baroque town of Noto before continuing to the charming fishing village of Marzamemi. Later, we return to Modica to stroll through its historic centre, where those who wish can discover the centuries-old tradition of the town’s famous chocolate in one of its historic chocolate shops.

Explore Syracuse

We discover Syracuse, one of Sicily’s most fascinating cities, where ancient history and Mediterranean beauty come together. In the morning, we explore the archaeological area, including the impressive Greek Theatre and the Ear of Dionysius, before strolling through the historic streets of Ortigia Island. The afternoon is free to enjoy the city at your own pace, with time to relax, explore hidden corners or discover local flavours, including the possibility of tasting the Eureka cake, a sweet tribute to Archimedes, the famous Syracusan genius.

Departure

After breakfast, we transfer to Catania Airport for your journey home. As your Sicilian adventure comes to an end, we leave with memories of the island’s landscapes, traditions and the unforgettable encounters that revealed its true soul. Arrivederci!
