Journey through Art
Start today a captivating journey through Montefeltro, Capital of the Artistic Landscape, discovering the true landscapes of the great Renaissance artists.
You will have a private driver and guide, and stay in boutique hotels located in villages, rural areas, or coastal spots, depending on your travel style.
Renaissance Landscape Trail
The day begins in Montebello, where a viewpoint reveals the landscape believed to have inspired Piero della Francesca’s Portrait of Battista Sforza. You then continue to the hilltop village of San Leo to see the balcony linked to San Girolamo e un devoto, explore the fortress, and stroll through the medieval streets. The piazza, churches, and terraces offer sweeping views over the Marecchia valley, and lunch in the village completes the visit.
In the afternoon, you arrive in Pennabilli for a gentle stroll through the historic centre. A short, easy walk up the hill of the ancient fortress leads to the balcony of the Gioconda, where you can enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.
Masterpieces and Flavours
The second day begins in Urbino with a visit to the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, home to some of the finest Renaissance masterpieces. Highlights include two works by Piero della Francesca and Raphael’s La Muta, as well as richly decorated interiors, from fireplaces and doors to furniture that reflect the elegance of the ducal court.
For lunch, you stop at the agriturismo Pieve del Colle in Urbania, where you can enjoy regional cuisine and visit the balcony of the Trionfi, the rear panel of Piero della Francesca’s famous Duke and Duchess diptych now in the Uffizi, offering a rare glimpse of the landscape that inspired this iconic work.
Your Artistic Journey Goes On
As we reach the final day of our journey through the Renaissance, the adventure doesn’t end here.
